Ingres Meets Thel in San Miguel - Altered book 9x5½" |
I found this old book about the French painter, Ingres, in 2005 at the weekly rummage sale in San Miguel’s biblioteca. My ideas evolved as I played with the existing images and text within the book. Infected by the magic of Mexico, the story grew strangely surreal, much in the way I thought Ingre’s own artistic vision may have morphed if he, did indeed spend time in San Miguel falling in love with a mysterious bird-headed woman.
